~ keep-in-touch sticker cards ~
aina is graduating from her current Kindergarten, Maris Stella Kindergarten, and about to move on to Primary School… the problem is, she doesn’t want to move on…
everytime she hears the words graduation and primary school, she cringes and whines, “i wish i didn’t have to leave Maris Stella!”… she’s missing her friends, and worried that she won’t be seeing her beloved teachers everyday now.
we told her to keep in touch with her friends and teachers. how? okay, then… let’s make a small name card for aina that she can give out her contact info. and since she and her kindergarten friends are all obsessed with stickers (they exchange stickers almost daily!), let’s make it a sticker card!
so, mommy and daddy started with drawing it on the computer. aina wanted to put her picture in the card, so her friends remember her face. and the stickers have to be purple!
then, after that, we brought the file to one of the printing shops in Sunshine Plaza and asked them to print them in a sticker papers. it cost us $14 for 7 sheets. not bad. we thought of printing it ourselves using our inkjet printer, but ink from inkjet printer rubs off more easily than from laser printers, so we decided against it.
when we got home, we all busied ourselves with scissors, exacto knives and rullers, cutting the stickers into a size that is small enough to fit in aina’s pocket and and big enough to read.
tomorrow, she’ll give these out to her classmates, her teachers (both K1 and K2), her wushu friends, and other kids she made friends from different classes. she went to bed happy and less worry about Primary School.
