~ a visit to SEA Aquarium ~
ever since we saw the SEA Aquarium ads, we’ve been wanting to see the dubbed World’s Largest Aquarium. and this weekend, Noushka, Ditha, Naomi & Chili are in town. so here we go to RWS.
started out with lunch at the Malaysian Food Street…
and photo taking in front of the Universal Globe (even though we weren’t going into the Universal Studios)..
at the entrance into the SEA Aquarium, there was a Zheng He Exhibition, which was quite interesting. it was telling stories of places where the Admiral visited and traded. there were big ships inside the buildings along with life-size dioramas.
and then, we went into the Aquarium. it was certainly bigger and bolder than its neighbor, Sentosa’s Underwater World (and here, too). the conveyor belt tunnel was big and, as usual, full of sharks. we were lucky that we got there during feeding time, so we could see the fish scrambling for their food.
the highlight of the place is the gigantic tank where there were many Manta Rays and Sting Rays. the size was massive! and it contains many, many large fish.
watching the fish and the rays glide in the water was sooo soothing and peaceful. people would just sat on the floor and stared at the fish. maybe that’s why there were a lot of screensavers with aquarium themes…
the Manta Rays are definitely the show-stealer, just like those Manta Rays in Osaka Aquarium. little fishies follow them, making them look like large kites with loooong and elaborate tails. it was sooo cool!
the smaller aquariums are fun, too. there were shark’s eggs, which was really cool to see. and there were areas where we walk on top of glass panels with an aquarium underneath. kids looooove those. there were also patting area, where you can play with star fish and small rays.
shark eggs! the orange things inside that semi-transparent sacks are the baby sharks. they were swimming inside the egg sacks.

Maasyaa Allah, keren!
