expiration date 

hmm, there are so many things to tell about this race…

first of all, this is my first ever race in Jakarta. unlike racing in Singapore, where i’m usually either alone or just with Shinta, here in Jakarta, it looks like everone knows everybody in the race. races in Jakarta are usually quite small: less than 1000 people. and i get the impression that the people that go on running races are all the same people. so i kept bumping to the same people that i met when i joined the Indo Runners TNR.

ninit and adit picked us up early in the morning (around 4am). the plan was: i run while aina, accompanied by noushka, will be playing with rinjani… and they did! thanks to Noushka who brought that ball and velcro thingy… which was very entertaining to the kids :)

honestly, i felt tired on that day. i guess the wedding and shooting the day before was exhausting. and i couldn’t sleep well last night to recover.

but it was fun nevertheless. i met with many TUM Runners, whom i’ve never met before… some came all the way from Bandung (nyanya, gamma…) and Jogja (thea) to join this race. and most of us were wearing our TUF running tees/tanks —thank you to nyanya & ing for taking the time to print them!

the run itself was not that long, only 5 mile or about 8km. but i think the fact that i’ve stopped training all together after finishing my Half Marathon finally took a toll today. i was soooo out of touch with my pace. i didn’t realize that during my 2nd and around 3rd km, i was waaaay too fast for my own good (going around 5’+). so by the time i passed the halfway point of the race, i was exhausted. and i started walking. since then, the run sucked.

but then, the best part of the race was: the pictures! because there were so many TUM Runners running, many of the husbands were out there taking pictures (thank you, Tofan!). and this means, i got soooo many good pictures of me running and after the run. the pictures from the official photographers were awesome, too! i guess i managed to avoid photographers during my walks :P

and this is my all time favorite photo from the run, taken by iing, when i was a few meters from the finish line, saying hello to my loveliest cheerleader. thank you capturing MY moment, ing!
