Happy Halloween!

yay! it’s that time of the year again. and this time, we have more people coming to our Trick or Treat Party. instead of inventing a new lantern style, we’re reusing almost everything we had on 2009’s Halloween night (except for aina’s bunny costume). we ran into a small problem, one of our large laterns got ripped last year, and this year IKEA doesn’t sell the large lantern anymore. so we had lopsided ghosts… one is bigger than the other. but i guess no one really noticed.

the guests brought cool food too… we had finger food, literally, by Utte…

and Chocolate Banana Pudding Graveyard, from Shinta:

for the treat, we put our round table covered with cloth and brown paper so that it looks like a tree stump (does it look like a tree stump?) between the two ghosts, and placed the pumpkin candy packets there.

we also noticed that there were a lot more kids coming for the trick or treats… we made 100+ pumpkin packets, and they’re gone within the first hour. i was panicking! so, shinta, yosi, slesta and i had to do more of those packets quickly… thank you girls, for your quick hands :)

so, what did we dress up as? well, aina has been wanting to be Ariel, the Little Mermaid.

i was a Totoro…

and ari made his “costume” (more like a prop) five minutes before the party started:

koda dressed up as a mutt dog. sorry koda, we didn’t have time to make you a costume… and my favorite is aidan’s costume: Luke Skywalker from Episode IV… (wrong light saber color, though).

the kids seemed to have a lot of fun walking around the neighborhood, being spooked and getting treats.

the ghosts and ghouls who stopped by our house seemed to enjoy their visits too. some were cute, some were scary… but most of them remembered our eyeballs. some even remembered the spiders! thank god none of them remembered these two ghosts being reused :P

some of the kids were trying to take more than one pumpkin (and got caught). and the “scream” ghosts tried to “trick” us instead of taking the candies… they sprayed us with those Silly Strings which ended up on our hair… XD

after the walk, the kids got busy playing playdough and lego…

while the adults were busy exchanging cameras…
