expiration date 

today, just like last year, aina participated in her annual mid-year ballet school concert, the Reverance 2012. she’s been practicing every sunday for the past four weeks, on top of her regular wednesday class. and since she’s still in Baby Ballet, the choreography was pretty much the same as it was last year.

i, on the other hand, am learning new things… like doing the ballerina bun the propper way. just like aina, for the past four weeks, i had to put her hair up in a bun, no pins allowed except for the U-pin to hold the bun. with that much baby hair on her, that was quite a challenge. so, for four weeks, armed with a tube of hairgel, hair net, 2 U-pins and a thin comb, i had my practice… today was the bun-show time :)

just like last year, we had to put a little bit of make up on her: pink blush and pink lipsticks.

this year, there were two shows instead of one. due to the large number of kids participating in the concert, they had to split the show in two. aina was on the second show, which was sold out.

this year, she did better than last year. she was smiling the whole time she was on stage (they were told that ballerinas need to smile while dancing). she followed instructions more accurately… i guess, she’s old enough to do this by now.

starting next month, she will move on to the next grade: the pre-ballet class. and she’ll be wearing the purple uniform instead of pink. and this is what she’s been waiting for for the past 6 months: graduating to the next class :)
