expiration date 

unlike last year, when we visited the annual Art Garden Exhibition early in May 2010, this year we went there a bit late (July!). ari couldn’t make it because he has started to work on-site lately. so i asked my mom, who’s visiting, to accompany us to the museum.

this time, the exhibition is located at the main SAM building, instead of at the 8Q SAM. i think, this time the exhibition is more gender equally divided for each gender. last year, i remember that the boys are not that interested in the exhibition, while the girls love it. this year, it’s about half and half, i think.

we were greeted by a wall of ticking flowers and an elephant full of flowery stickers. to aina’s delight, she got three flower stickers to stick on the elephant… “this is fun!”, she immediately got excited.

then, we passed a room with car and train tracks. aina wasn’t interested so we moved along.

then,we got to a room where there were “trees of toys” that she can draw on. anything that she can draw on will interest her. so she took the pen and started scribbling.

  

in the same room, there were people giving out paper fruit to be made. the idea is that once you finish making the fruit, you can keep it with you, or give the finished fruit in exchange of a real fruit. aina chose banana and star fruit, which probably a bad choice because the banana was so complicated to do… she got bored before the banana was finished. too bad…

  

after that, she arrived at her favorite room: the dress up room where she can dress up a life-size drawing of kids, changing their clothes, shoes and even the heads. the clothing pieces sticks with velcro… it’s two of her favorite activities: playing dress up combined with playing stickers in gigantic proportion!

  
  
  

they even had cake decoration activities, with velcro, too!

after that, there were three other rooms to visit, but aina was so into the dress up game, that she kept coming back to that room. she liked this colorful room too, though. she could move the round platform around, which is fun.
