~ zoo day with naia ~
the last time we went to the zoo was almost exactly a year ago. it was during the Eid weekend, so the place was super packed. this time, we had a much better time with much less crowd.
we met up with Shinta, Ario and the little Naia around 10-ish at the Singapore Zoo gate. once we got in, we were greeted with cute colorful birds and posters of kids playing with the animals. one of them looks so much like aina, so we just had to take pictures of it:
we practically followed the same exact route as we did a year ago: otters, hippos (now have one very cute baby hippo), white tigers, kangoroos and wallabies, then food. by the time we’re done with the food, the kids are sleepy (in fact, aina has got up to her stroller and fell asleep there all by herself).
the thing is, we wanted to see the giraffes, but for some reasons, we always end up choosing the path that goes to the opposite side of the giraffes inclosure… oh well, maybe next time, giraffes.
but this time, we actually got to see the Elephants show. and it was fun, too. it was much better than i anticipated.
the elephants’ tricks were very impressive. i didn’t know that large elephants can balance themselves very well on top of a log… naia seemed to love it. aina, on the other hand, was scared to the point that she burried her face on my chest almost for the whole show. towards the end, she told ari that she’s scared of the woman host’s voice that came out of the loudspeakers. it was loud and she didn’t know where it came from. so after aina saw that there was a real woman speaking into the microphone, she unlatched and started to watch the show.
we also learned a funny trivia:
we then had lunch at one of the food court. the kids entertained themselves by climbing Ben & Jerry’s cows and chasing butterflies…
aina was curious with the butterly and kept chasing it around, until the butterfly turned around and chased her. she then ran, screamed and tried to climb up on me. she refused to come down, even after the butterfly left.
we left the zoo around 2:30pm. aina has already fallen asleep in her stroller and naia looks as sleepy as aina. and big yay for no line on the taxi stand (in comparison to the last year’s taxi wait line).
for more photos in the zoo, it’s on the Singapore Zoo 10.09 photo album.
