ink squid tagliolini with fish and capers

aina really loved the squid ink spaghetti that we had a few weeks ago. so, today, i decided to try to make something similar.

this is one of Nigella Lawson’s recipes, which includes fish fillet, scallion, capers, tomatoes and white wine. the taste isn’t that similar with the one we had at Ma Maison, but it was yummy nonetheless. we got the fresh ink squid tagliolini at the nearby Da Paolo… the recipe suggest mullet, but we could only find cod. and i use regular white wine instead of rosé wine.

ari was very happy with the result. aina, once again, loved it. she was pretty excited. since she just started to learn to eat pasta with fork, she repeated her chant during the whole dinner: “twirl, twirl… into the mouth… twirl, twirl, into the mouth”… so cute!

i think, next time i made this, i will try to find fish that’s closer to mullet. the cod was way too meaty.
