expiration date 

out of curiosity, i tried to perm my eyelashes. i didn’t do it myself, though. i went to browhaus nearby and got them done there. the beautician asked me what kind of result i would like to achieve: natural look or dramatic look… and, for the sake of trying out, i chose dramatic look.

the result is pretty interesting. i don’t have the “before” picture, so i’ll just say that my lashes are as straight as my metal ruler. you can kind of see it on this almost-three-year-old picture. anyways, the lashes definitely curl… although i won’t say that it’s as dramatic as i imagined.

i don’t normally use lash curler, but when i do, my lashes usually end up looking like that. so, if this is dramatic, i don’t know how the natural look would be like…

anyways, the procedure wasn’t so bad. it took less than an hour and i spent it all with my eyes closed. supposedly, after covering the skin around with some kind of tape (it feels like tape, not exactly sure what it was), they arrange the lashes on a pair of small curler with adhesive, to keep the lashes curled. then, they put on the perming solution, which smells just like the perming solution for your hair. after leaving it on for 20 minutes, they cleaned it up and put the neutralizer for another 10 minutes. then, it’s done.

the beautician told me not to wear mascara for the next 4 days, which is totally fine for me, because i don’t even own one.

however, just like the regular perming procedure, it will damage your lashes, too — making it more brittle and dry. so, to prevent that, i have to apply the collagen conditioner, which looks like a transparent mascara, twice a day. it will keep the lashes hydrated and, supposedly, keep the curl longer. oh yeah, according to them, the curl should last between 6 weeks to 3 months.

so, will i do it again? i still don’t know. the above picture was taken a day after the perm. i wonder how long it would last, and if it will look messy when the perm starts to lose power… like some are curled, some are straight… that would look kinda funny.
