~ halloween preparation ~
Happy Halloween, everyone!
here, in our neighborhood, the Trick or Treat night will happen tomorrow, the day after the Hallow’s Eve. i guess it’s easier to move it to the weekend. so today, we went all out decorating our place and sewing the last bit of aina’s costume.
the idea is to have Aina as the Red Riding Hood. it’s an easy costume because we already have a live prop: Koda as the Wolf! all i have to sew is a small red cloak and a little skirt.
it turns out that aina didn’t enjoy wearing cloak it as much as i thought she would. she kept pulling the hood down during the fitting. so, ari stepped in and started reading the Red Riding Hood story again and again to aina. and it worked! she got excited over the prospect of wearing hood and carrying basket.
she’ll be wearing her white shirt and the red shoes tomorrow. we haven’t found a good basket, though. so if we still can’t find it tomorrow, she’ll probably be carrying the pumpkin basket instead. i know it doesn’t fit the theme… :(
other than getting aina halloween-ready, we also need to redecorate our house a little bit. so during the short shopping-spree at the nearby toy store, we got a few orange and black balloons and crepe papers.
i also got myself a witch hat and ari will be wearing a black cloak when he took aina around the neighborhood tomorrow.
cute!! is that ribbon you use for the trim? and i spy.. an ikea ironing board! hehe i have exactly the same one.
yeah, that was ribbon… i wanted to have a different trim (the red one shown on the second picture here: http://www.avocadolite.com/expiration/archives/002108.shtml ), but i didn’t have enough…
and yes! that’s the infamous ikea little ironing board! haha.
