monkey cups

in an attempt to fight the ant infestation in our house, today we visited the nearby plant nursery and bought a Monkey Cups (or Kantong Semar, in Indonesian). we were going to buy other plants that doesn’t eat animals, like petunias or periwinkles, but they don’t have the colors i wanted.

anyways, yep, our house has been full of ants lately. so far, during their 1-week visit, my father-in-law has discovered (and destroyed) at least three ant nests and colonies. even though there are less ants crawling around, we thought we could try the more green approach: carnivorous plant. it is now hanging on the outside of our kitchen. so, we’ll see how effective the cups work in the next few days.

pakai kemut thal.
