expiration date 

so, here it is! the most awaited event: aina’s first real smile (not one of those incidental smiles)!

starting two days ago, we noticed that Aina can finally see things. she can pinpoint on one thing and follow it around. last night, she finally noticed the mobile above her crib and spent almost 15 minutes staring at each of the animals hanging on it. it made us soooo happy.

but today, we found her first smile, which makes us even more happy. the first one i recognized was during one of the nappy-changing session. we were playing with her colorful chicken toy — shaking it around so that it makes sound. and all the sudden, she gave a big wide smile while looking at her chicken toy. ari, ari’s mom and i all went “awww, she smiled!”

of course, that first one wasn’t caught by the camera. but from then on, she threw many smiles around whenever she’s happy or content. the picture on the side shows one of those happy moments. it happened not long after the feeding session. she was full and was laying on my chest. good thing ari had the camera nearby…
