~ we’re back ~
we (thalia + aina) finally made it home yesterday. the hospital stay, which was supposed to be 2 days, was extended to 5 days due to several unexpected things:
- delivery by emergency c-section, instead of normal delivery, because the baby couldn’t get out of the passage
- aina got jaundice on the third day and couldn’t be released that day
- her jaundice didn’t get better on the fourth day, so we needed to add one more day
- i got pubic bone inflammation (Osteitis Pubis), which is very painful and rendered me useless
on the fifth day, ari and i spent our morning crossing our fingers, hoping that the level of bilirubin on aina is low enough to pass for “going home” test. and it did, yay!
so, now that we’re home with ari and my mom, we have to face the sleepless nights, engorged breasts problems, baby with gassy tummy, etc etc. so, even though i would loooove to write about my experience in those past five days, including the delivery story, i can’t promise that it will be up anytime soon… our little bundle-of-joy makes sure that all attentions are on her :)
for now, i’ll just end this entry with pictures of her from yesterday, right before we left the hospital:
and for the rest of the photo, just go to Aina’s album at Flickr.

Congratulations! Such a cute baby girl - Aina! Lovely name too :)
Keep her bilirubin low by having her sunbathe everyday from 7AM to 8AM. Don’t let her be exposed to the sun after 9AM since its harmful to her thin skin.
