~ 36th week ~

36th week

it probably doesn’t look much different in the photo, but in real life, the belly does expand. it’s wider and fuller. the baby’s movement is so visible that sometimes i feel embarrassed to walk around with tight clothings.

another thing that is different from the previous weeks are my swollen left foot. i heard it’s normal for pregnant women to have their feet and hands swollen. but it seems that my left side swells much larger than my right side. i have this puffy left foot that doesn’t fit into my sandals anymore, while the right side looks pretty close to normal. at the beginning, it freaked me out. but then ari and i found out that we can wrap it with hot towel to ease the swelling. so, it’s all good now.

i keep gaining weight ever since i get to the third trimester. and the lately, it goes on a steep curve… it’s kinda scary. hopefully, the weight gain will stop — or at least slow down — soon.

i’ve been taking photo every four week ever since i was 4-week pregnant. if it’s on the mark, the baby’s birth is on the 40th week. so, if she doesn’t come out early, i may have another photo to show on the 40th week… i wonder if it gets any bigger than this… maybe it will if i keep gaining weight like this.

well, the swelling foot is not much better, but at least the doctor said that it’s not anything dangerous :)

Swelling is common. Try sleeping with your feet up, put 1-2 pillows under it. Take time to soak your feet in warm water. Get those wooden rollers from Bodyshop, those help with circulating blood when your feet swells up.

By the looks of your belly, I think it’s gonna be a boy.

thansk for the tips!

by the way, all the tales about how to predict the baby’s gender seems to fail on me. the belly’s shape, stuff that i eat, which way i face when i sleep all points that supposedly i have a boy. but the ultrasound scan said i have a girl, and ever since the 5-6 weeks, the doctor still says that it’s a girl :P

My gosh, has it been 36 weeks already ??! It felt like really recent only when you announced that you are pregnant. lol

What a cute belly! How time has flown… only 4 weeks to go. Are you excited? Nervous?

Good luck with these last few weeks… can’t wait to “meet” you new little one.

Meegs | 25 May 2007 - 10:39 | reply

we can’t wait either! :D although, yeah, we’ve been both excited and nervous at the same time… it’s really hard to predict what’s going to happen after the baby’s born, even though many friends and family have shared their stories with us.

koda seems to be nervous and excited, too :P
