expiration date 

i have many things i considered children of mine and ari. there is one that currently in my belly. there is koda. there are those three pandas… and there is this site, avocadolite.com. and when she was born (ari said avocadolite is a girl), she looked like this:

the domain itself was born exactly eight years ago — 23 February 1999 — and this weird looking girl was on the cover (splash page). she was drawn in MS Paint (i think?) using touch-pad, so that sorta explains her squiggly lines… she even dressed as an easter bunny:

the journal part of the site started on 10 January 1999, which later turn into Expiration Date (this thing that you’re reading) sometime in October that year. the journal started before the domain because the site had existed sometime in 1998, although i didn’t buy the domain until later. you know, at that time, buying a domain was a big deal ;)

even though the main site hasn’t been as active as it used to, i’m pretty happy that most of the stuff are still there and we have never really closed and erased anything that we’ve done (some are hidden, though). the journaling site, however, makes me quite proud, since i have kept all the archives and never really gone into hiatus ever since Expiration Date started.

so, hopefully, we can keep this up… hopefully, avocadolite can be a decade old…. that’d be cool :)
