we were walking around the Singapore Science Centre when a survey guy approached us. first of all, let me tell you about survey guys/girls. there are many of them roaming around in Singapore, most of them are in Orchard Road. they usually carry a small booklet with a pen to write down the survey. these survey guys/girls stop pedestrians on the street and beg them to fill out their marketing survey… “it only takes two minutes!”
when ari and i still lived in Orchard area, we were sick of them. we couldn’t even walk three blocks without being stopped at least twice. last year alone, we have probably refused around 435 survey offers.
but this time, we’re in the Science Centre… and when the survey guy approached Ari, we didn’t have time to get away. besides, we thought it’s been a while since we fill out a survey and we would like to contribute to science…
survey guy: hi, would you like to fill out this survey? it only takes two minutes.
ari: …umm… okay… sure.
survey guy: oh, thank you!
*starts writing things on his small booklet*
…how old are you?
ari: umm, thirty one.
survey guy: oh… well. that’s okay then… thank you… *walked away from us*
thalia: HA HA… you’re too old to be surveyed!
