~ japan day 11: flight home ~

03 January 2006

we checked out of the minshuku at 5:30 in the morning. it was sooo hard to get up after such a long day yesterday. the front desk lady had to wake up early, too, because of our check-out time. we walked to the bus stop and fell asleep the whole way to Fukuoka Airport. by the time we got to the airport, the sun has just risen.

SKY!

the Fukuoka Airport was small and super crowded. there are lines everywhere… lines to the check-in counter was long, but the longest was the line to the immigration area… the line was the length of the airport itself!

we had our breakfast in the airport. i picked a Japanese breakfast with Mentaiko on it. i just had to squeeze one more meal with Mentaiko before leaving Fukuoka… by this time, we were too tired to take pictures.

after sleeping all the way to Kuala Lumpur, we were now deciding whether to stay in the airport or go out to the city to do a little sightseeing. our transit time was three hours, so we weren’t sure if it gave us enough time to go to the city. so we ended up staying in the airport, hanging out in the only restaurant that has a smoking section.

KLIA

right before boarding, ari and i bought some books: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe book and Stupid White Men. i, of course, read the children story one.

we landed in Singapore at night. i think it was around 9:30, or something. we went straight home. Koda wasn’t home, so there was no one to greet us. we left the backpacks right next to the front door, took out our contact lens cases, took a shower and went straight to bed. i finished the book that night.
