~ stool stepping ~
for the past two days, every morning, Koda stepped on her own poo after doing her morning duty. we don’t like her walking around the house with stinky feet. so she isn’t allowed to be in the house until her feet is clean. we had to wash and shampoo her feet every morning. Koda doesn’t like water too much, so washing her feet is a two-man job — one does the washing, the other one does the holding. so, every morning, i had to disrupt ari’s sleep, asking if he could hold Koda while i wash her feet.
this morning it happened again. this time, the poo is a little on the soft side… it made a mess on the backyard. poo were everywhere, since she walked around the back porch. so, it’s an early morning yelling accompanied by washing and scrubbing the porch tile.
we think she does it intentionally. but what is exactly her intention? why stepping on her own poo?
i wish i could read doggie’s mind.

She might oblivious about it, how old is she btw?
naah, she can’t be oblivious if she looks at it first before stepping on it. besides, this is new. she’s never done this before.
she’s about 4.5 months.
well 4.5 months, she’s just a baby. maybe just like human babies, puppies go through a phase where they like to play with their own “stuff”? and maybe just like with human babies, you can always yell at ‘em but there’s really nuthin you can do but to wait until the phase had passed. but then again, what do i know about dogs, right?…:)
the “phase” thing… that’s exactly what i thought… and, yeah, we do the yell, too :)
i thought dog has a concept of ‘marking its territorry’ by using poo and pee. so i think Koda is trying to mark her territory inside your house, but since you don’t allow her to do it, she needs to bring the poo inside the house, that is, by stepping on her own poo.
eww. yuck.
anyways, i thought only male dogs mark their teritory?
