~ my first amigurumi ~
it’s the month of Ramadhan. so, i fast. just like last year, during the fasting month, i knit and crochet. the idea behind it is to distract myself from the urge to smoke by keeping my hands busy. it worked very well last year…. although i ended up with many random and useless knitted/crocheted stuff.
anyway, this is my first amigurumi: a (rather dark) pink piggy.
i got the basic pattern from roxycraft, which was very easy to follow. but somewhere along the line, i decided to make a pig instead of following the patterns available there.
i’ve never crochet anything 3-dimensional with stuffing before, so it was a challenge. to crochet something that small (the piggy’s height is about 2”) is much harder! my hands, especially the left one was aching non-stop. i can’t make the stitches go evenly… and i think i’m using a wrong yarn… ah, the learning process.
oh, i got the stuffing from our old IKEA pillow… when i went to my usual craft store to buy the stuffing, the guy there told me that it’s actually cheaper to buy a cushion and rip it apart than buying stuffing in the craft store. so there you go…

i’ve seen amigurumi at roxycraft before, but i didn’t realize that they are so tiny! your piggy is a cutie. i’m thinking to make a monkey or a hippo.
i think you can make it whatever size you want by using different yarn. i chose to make it small, because i haven’t worked with small yarn before :)
Cho` kawaii buta chan../Cute piggy stuff..
I like it very much, it must be hard to make it, right? you are very talented, im impress..well anyway ganbatte kudasai ne..
