~ Corpse Bride ~

as a huuuuge fan of Tim Burton’s stop motion animation, The Nightmare Before Christmas, i had to watch his newest movie, Corpse Bride. it’s been months since i watch movies in the theater. i think our last movie we watched in the theater was the disappointing The Island. ever since Koda arrived, ari and i have only been watching movies from our tiny 15” TV.

anyways, just like i what i expected from Tim Burton’s movies, Corpse Bride is a beautiful and visually enchanting movie… in a Burton’s weird and creepy way, of course. there are a few scenes where i giggled “ow, so cuuute!”, and there are some where i gasped for its breathtaking images. and the animation was amaaazing.

if i had to compare Corpse Bride with The Nightmare Before Christmas, i would say that The Nightmare Before Christmas is still my favorite. i like the uplifting story and the songs better on the Christmas one… Bride is much creepier and (i think) less child-friendly… and if i might say, the plot is a little too thin.

what blew my mind was the design of each characters. zombies can’t get any cuter than these. i’m thinking of buying the dolls…

Tim Burton… i love you!
