expiration date 

about this time, exactly six months ago, ari and i legally married. i’ve been thinking on what to write in this journal regarding our 6th month being married, and all i can think of is we should’ve done this a long time ago.

d’oh.

so, instead, i’ll tell you a little story about twenty seven:

during the wedding preparation — that went of for over 6 months — we found out that all the wedding milestones fall on the the date of 27.

• 27 November 2004 — the engagement party. i didn’t write anything about it in this journal though. it was an extremely tiring day.
• 27 December 2004 — the church wedding and wedding dinner in Singapore.
• 27 March 2005 — the wedding party in Jakarta.

ooh, the magic date!

so, it would make sense to have the legal wedding on the morning of the 27 December 2004, on the same day as the church wedding. this way, we have ONE wedding day instead of two different once for different types of ceremony… so, i really want to have our wedding date to be 27th of December.

but, alas, the date was full! i guess everyone wanted to get married right after Christmas, or something… the ROM office isn’t open on Sunday — which is the 26 — so the everyone goes for the 27th. and the only available date prior to the 27 was 23 December. damn.

so, there you go… today, the 23rd, is our legal wedding day. but ari and i probably would go out and have some nice dinner for two on the 27th instead.
