~ welcome cable! ~
yay! we finally got a cable! we found out a few nights ago, when we had dinner with Melvyn, that CSI NY is playing in AXN — a tv channel that only accessible if we subscribe to cable tv.
so, this afternoon, after ari and i took care of my change-of-address in Indonesian Embassy, we decided to stop by StarHub and got a cable. we chose the basic cable, which means, we don’t see HBO and other movie channels. we figured, we could always buy VCDs and DVDs if we wanted to watch movies anyway. channels that we wanted to see was AXN (of course), Animal Channel, Discovery Channel and Cartoon Network…. what a geek, eh?
we installed the box, and surprisingly, it worked immediately… there are more surprises, though: we could see ALL channels! not just the basic cables. we got HBO, we got even NHK, the japanese channel… wow. is this a teaser, or the cable company made a mistake?
anyways, tonight, i ended up sitting in front of the TV for hours flipping from one channel to another, including watching CSI NY and the original CSI back to back. oh no, i’m just entering my couch potato phase in my life!

enjoy it while it lasts! i rarely watch tv, but csi ny is one of the tv shows i like. do you watch alias? another one that i like is medium (patricia arquette).
cable is evil!! and i luv it!! ha ha but i’ve been contemplating switching to satelite dish just because the cable company keeps jacking their price up! those a**holes!
i bet it is a teaser. after 10-30 days you will get the normal channel hehehe.
hehe, i’m hoping it isn’t. since my apartment is essentially an apartment divided into two, my neighbor and we share the same apartment number. we’re thinking that the neighbor subscribes full cable channel. and that whole ‘same apartment number’ things results in us getting the full cable channels as well. this happened to me a while ago, when i lived in Pennsylvania.
but who am i kidding, right? singapore government has their eyes everywhere, and wouldn’t let unfairness such above happen to their residents, right? :P
