expiration date 

Noushka, my tomboy cousin, was born on 29 February 1980. so her birthday is only occured every 4 years. this year, she’s turning 24. however, if you count the birthday literally, she’s 6 years old.

our family threw somekind of a surprise party for her, and the theme is, as you can guess, 6-year old birthday party. the house is decorated with balloons colorful papers. we dressed her up wearing cheesy barbie-ish outfit that’s usually worn by birthday girl. (it was a pain to find those kinds of dress and shoes that would fit adult. thank god we’re all small people.)

all the guests are dressed —and acted — like elementary school children. the songs we played all day are kids songs. all guests got a candy pouch. even the gifts are all toys.

and of course, we got the homemade cake, decorated by our aunts (who are also dressed in children clothings).

i was wearing Naomi’s clothes, along with her socks. she doesn’t fit on those anymore, but she used to wear it to birthday parties and church. so, i thought it was appropriate. Ticia wore my my dress (the blue one) i used to wear 15 years ago. it’s kinda sad to find out that we didn’t grow much at all.

of course, we all ended up looking scary, with those kiddy clothes and cigarettes in hands. the real kids probably more comfortable than us, but for us wearing this kinds of clothes, in Jakarta weather, was unbearabley hot. but, still, it was surely fun.
