~ no boarding ~
at this exact moment, i should’ve been miles away from Melbourne, wearing thick jacket and waterproof pants, sliding down a slope of snow with a board attached to my feet. or maybe i’m in the middle of getting up from a fall. but instead, i’m currently in my pajamas, eating some mie goreng in front of a computer.
the story is since the last boarding trip we had, a bunch of us decided that we didn’t have enough time skiing and would like to go again two weeks after. it all went well: 10 people are going to go, we rented a car, we had the schedule figured out; 5:00am leaving the city, and we should be back by 10:00pm… until two days ago, in the afternoon.
Meta, a wife of Irwan, cut her finger when trying to open a can of meat stuff. they just moved to the city and didn’t have all those emergency kit. what do you know, by the evening, she got a fever. her finger was infected. so, she can’t go.
Zihan, her 5 year-old daughter, wouldn’t be able to go either. no mom, no go.
Prissy, a cousin of mine, didn’t want to go if Meta doesn’t come. they both are mom with kids, so if one doesn’t come, the other one would be lonely on the bottom of the mountain. understandable, though…
Zidan, Prissy’s son, wouldn’t be able to go either. same as above: no mom, no go.
Rendy, Prissy’s husband, couldn’t go either if his wife and kids won’t go. weekend is family time. so no family, no go.
i thought it was funny… :P
so, it came down to 5 people, with only 3 people skiing, 2 people just walking around on the bottom of the mountain. the 6-hour trip and back doesn’t seem worth the effort. so, we’re moving the trip to next weekend, and hoping there will be more people coming.
the moral of the story: emergency kit with disinfectant is extremely important to have ;)
ps: i’m thinking about having sidebars on this site, but i haven’t been able to come up with what i’m going to put in there. hmm.
Junk stuff I guess, maybe install MTamazon and have a reading list, etc.
