expiration date 

i’m so behind on this (i think the press release was dated around mid-July), but it seems like one of my favorite manga-ka, Yazawa Ai will be designing a manga character based on Courtney Love. i think they call her Princess Ai.

yikes, how should i respond to this?

the first reaction was: WTF? noooo!! the thing is having an image of Courtney Love as the main character of shoujo series is a little bit, well, disturbing. but i guess, i have to put more faith into stuff, right? so, okay, i’m going to try to be more objective. here we go…

it’s definitely going to be interesting. of course i’ll buy it, because i would buy any Yazawa Ai’s work, if i could…. and i’m trying to imagine how the manga would look like; would it look more like Gonkinjo Monogatari, where the style is more exaggerated and cartoony? or would it be more like Nana? i’m curious.

so, once again, ehm, why Courtney Love?
