~ it’s been a while, no? ~

12 January 2003

i think i haven’t posted anything here in over two weeks. it feels like a looong time, since i used to post daily.

anyways, i know i promised a few people to keep posting even after i move from New York City to Jakarta. well, it turned out that posting journal from here was much harder than i thought. not because i don’t have anything to say, but actually the other way around…. just to make me feel better, i’ll explain why i haven’t posted here.

first, and most of you probably already know, i have limited internet connection. i currently pay the connection per minute. and after the new year, the price was raised around 30%… so it got kinda expensive. so, yeah, i spend much less online time than i used to.

second, i kinda lost interest in posting. since i don’t connect to internet often, i usually jot down the things i do daily; something that i haven’t done for a while. i gave up paper journal since i start using online journal… my handwriting turned worse, and my typing got faster and faster. it’s kinda embarassing to see my handwriting in comparison with some of my friends here. sooo messy!

oops. sorry, got diverted. anyways, since i have a paper journal, i feel that i don’t need to write things down on the computer anymore. i have the record of what i did anyway…

third, since i’m working for Bolt, which is located at NYC, most of my online time are dedicated to my work. since my computer has lost half of his memory (it broke, and one of its RAM died), working on this computer, especially with photoshop or flash, would take forever. once i’m done, i usually have spent quite large amount of online minute, that i would feel guilty if i go online just for my pleasure… hehehe.

those 3 reasons are kinda cheesy, no? but i think i got somekind of solution…

my dad’s computer went dead completely a few days ago. so yesterday, he went out with my cousin and bought a new computer. nice one too: Pentium 4, 2.8 GHz, 120G hard drive. etc etc… he went on and on about that. it’s still nice and shiny too. this means good things for me too: i can use his computer, which will be much faster than my current one… i can use his unlimited monthly internet connection… i can can start downloading MP3s again… and, most likely, i can start maintaining my babies again — exp date and avocadolite.

oh by the way, happy (belated) new year… :)
