~ AIM name changes ~

12 November 2002

i finally cancelled my AOL service. it’s the third call i made. i gave up on the first call, cause i was on hold forever on the line. they didn’t want to answer anyone who wants to disconnect their service, i guess.

the second call, i had this really nice sales guy. he was so nice that i couldn’t cancel my account… he gave me 3 months of free service instead, which is going to be useless for me. i just have to accept it, cause he was so nice.

so tonight, i promised myself that i wouldn’t give in to sweet mouthed dudes. well, it was a woman. and she was kinda rude. she disconnected me right away, charged me for an extra month (cause my billing cycle turned out to be on the 11th and today is the 12th), and she said if i try to log on with my member name to AOL service, it will automatically turn on my account and start charging again.

whoa.

“… and that includes the AOL instant messenger.”

WHOA!

so, everyone, i’m changing my AIM name to avoid $24 charge on my credit card. could you email me your screen name so i can buddy you back?

thanx for the reminder, i need to cancel my membership too by the end of this month.
AOL never works for me. i got the 3 months free when i bought my computer.
anyway, i was just browsing and found your site. nice.

as far as i know, they don’t charge for AIM. she said, “for your convinience, if you’d like to reactivate your account within the next few weeks, simply log on to your AOL, we will automatically turn on your account and your billing. have a nice day.”

… i was like, wait! wait! what about AIM? if i log on to AIM, would it turn on my billing too?

and she said, yes. i don’t know if she understand what i said or not, but i just wanna be safe. it’s only for the “next few weeks” anyway. :)

so, slesta, ngga usah kawatir :) kayaknya sih elo ngga kena charge, kok.

That lady.. sure she’s “nice”… gua ga pernah nyoba AOL sich (walaupun sering dapet CDnya, untungnya disini promotionnya engga segencar di amrik). I heard bad reviews about them, lots. Good riddance!

All I want to know is when my account that I pay by the year is due. Why is it so difficult to check on account status?
