~ Road to Perdition ~

20 August 2002

Tom Hank’s latest movie, Road to Perdition, is based on a comic by Max Allan Collins and Richard Piers-Rayner. the comic, which is also titled Road to Perdition, was inspired by the Lone Wolf and Cub series, which i’m a big fan of. ari and i wanted to go and watched the movie, but we couldn’t find a theater near us that isn’t sold out for around 7-8pm. so, we decided to go to Union Square and visited Forbidden Planet. i bought Road of Perdition comic (along with 3 others), and read it cover to cover non-stop last night. i couldn’t stop! it was a great comic (or should i say, the graphic novel?). there are a few times where i went oohs, aahs, and wows. it’s also interesting to see the parallelism (is that a word?) of the different comics and movies i’ve seen that’s based on Lone Wolf and Cub story. i ended up sleeping at 3 in the morning. now i just need to watch the movie.

i didn’t know that road to perdition was based on a comic book. maybe i should check it out! :)

i’ve watched the movie, and it was pretty good. interesting how tom hanks was still his usual steadfast, charming self, even though his role was a hitman.
