~ happy halloween! ~

31 October 1999

happy halloween, everyone! did you do anything special for the spooky day?

well, i didn’t.

i started my day very late, sometime around 3pm. i helped ari moving the rest of his stuff from his old apartment to his new one. there are not many things left, but we had to put all the junks we were planning to leave to the basement, so the super can throw them easily. i also got Mike’s computer desk and TV shelf. he didn’t want them anymore, and i need them badly.

after that, we left for the office. i had some UI’s to do and a bit of designing left. but i didn’t get much done. i totally forgot that there would be a Halloween Parade along the 6th Avenue. We gotta cross the street before it starts or else we would have to walk farther in order to get home. so we only spent about 2 hours in the office, and we left to see the parade (from the other side, that is).

we got us some dinner in the chinese restaurant on Houston St., and off to watch the parade. but the sidewalk was already packed when we got there. there are people on the trees, fences and top of cars. it was impossible for me, who’s only 5’2”, to even peek… i could only see the banners they carried around. so instead of watching the parade, ari and i decided to watch the spectators. it’s actually quite amusing. there are so many freaks running around during halloween, huh? i’ve met about 10 Pikachus, 1 adult Batman, 3 kiddie Batmans, a couple of Storm Troopers, and of course, Jasons, the guy from Scream, Draculas… well, the classics. It seemed like the whole New York look like east Village for one day.

we didn’t stay there that long, cause we went to see Princess Mononoke on Angelika. wow, that movie has a really good animation! well drawn and very smooth. i personally think the story line is a bit confusing, kinda hanging. typical japanese animation story. although the movie is pretty long (2 and a half hours, i think), it’s trully a must see movie… you gotta go see it… go.. now!

oh, by the way, don’t forget to set your clock an hour early for those of you who live in the northern hemisphere. daylight saving time has begun.
