Aina had been wanting to go swimming for a while. But her ballet schedule is very tight, she hasn’t had time to go out at all. So since today is her birthday, and it’s both school and ballet holiday, we decided to take her swimming…
So, here we go to the Adventure Cove again! I know, we did that exactly two years ago… but this time, we went to the Dolphin Island, which was truly the highlight of today… we gotta play around with Mr. Rongrong the Dolphin!
We did the Dolphin Discovery Programme, which allowed us to touch and play with a dolphin, with the trainer supervision, of course. The dolphin’s name is Rongrong and it’s a he.

And while he was upside-down, showing his belly to us, he managed to pee… Yikes! Well, now we all know how dolphins pee…
We then forgot all about the pee, because Rongrong was soooo amusing. Aina fell in love with dolphines immediately. She was a bit scared at the beginning, but at the end, she wanted to have one at home… if Koda didn’t mind. But of course, Koda would mind. So we didn’t get any.

We all got to pose with Rongrong, and the big guy was sooo gentle. I remember when I got a kiss from a dolphin back when I was like 9-10 years old at Sea World, the dolphin wasn’t as gentle as Rongrong…

And then, we got our family picture with Rongrong, both with and without teeth versions.

After we were all finished, we said bye bye to RongRong…

Other than playing with the dolphin, we also did the usual stuff at the Adventure Cove. As usual, Aina really enjoyed swimming and floating around. I thought she asked for Adventure Cove because she wanted to try the slides, since two years ago, she was still too short to go on the slide rides. But when asked if she wanted to go for the slides, she declined… She said she doesn’t like fast stuff… Hmm, complete opposite of her mom…

We also did the snorkeling at the Rainbow Reef, which she didn’t do two years ago, because her swimming wasn’t up to par back then. And she was addicted to snorkeling… I think we need to do real snorkeling next time…
Oh, while we were there, all the sudden there was an announcement that all pools were closed. Apparently, there were clouds with thunder and lightning around the island, so none of us were allowed to go into the water. We were about to go into the Dolphin pool when the announcement appeared… and it lasted for more than half an hour. So we moved our Dolphin Discovery slot into a later slot, and Aina ended up playing sand for the remaining no-pool time.

All the unedited photos are in Dolphin Island 2017 and Adventure Cove 2017 albums.
Note: The Dolphin Island photos were taken by the photographer in the Dolphin Island. You’re not allowed to bring cameras with you, and you have to purchase your photos afterwards. And they’re pretty expensive (like $200!)… But since it’s Aina’s birthday, it was all worth it… :
