Since the first crocheted pointe shoe bag I made a few months ago, I’ve been trying to refine the design and make it more useful. Changing the size, adding tiny handles for bag clip… etc. Aina ended up having, I think, 4 bags in different materials and sizes…
Anyway, about a week ago, I finally took an order to make a pointe shoe bag. My first pointe shoe bag order! Yay! Naomi, Hana’s mom from Aina’s ballet school asked if I could make one for Hana, with letter H on it. I immediately agreed, because I always liked making something customized!
Unfortunately, it took more more than a week to make. Since I didn’t use any pattern, I just made it up as I go along. And there were I think 3 or 4 times I had to unravel and started over again, because I didn’t like the design or I changed my mind. I also miscalculated the yarn needed. I thought I would only need a little more than a skein. But it turned out that I needed more than 1.5 skein… and I ran out of the yarn. I went to the store I usually bought my stash, and they were out of stock and I had to wait until the next week.
Oops.
I guess that’s what happened when I make things with out patterns. But I had soooo much fun with it, and I really like the finish product. I hope Hana does too 🙂

Gorgeous! I’d love to make on for my daughter – do you have a pattern?
Thank you! But since I just winged it, I didn’t have any pattern. Sorry!
