The other day, Aina told me that she imagined that the mold growing in our backyard were composed of very tiny round balls of the mold family…. This was her story:
Each mold is a round shaped green thing that LOVES to hug one another. They have tiny arms and tiny legs, and they hug each other tightly.
They multiply by giving birth. When two molds get married, the mommy gets pregnant and gives birth to TWO little balls of molds, which immediately hug the parents. Molds normally give birth to TWO children. THREE is less common, but giving birth to ONE is super rare… It’s like finding a four-leaf clover: when a pair of molds gave birth to only one baby mold, the others would say, “Oooh, lucky!”
That’s why you don’t really see molds in groups of THREE.
