Yesterday, we went to Turf City Grandstand, bumped into a craft store called San Merinos. Aina and I went a bit panicky, wanted to buy everything in the store. But after half an hour of sorting and pondering, Aina went home with a small bottle of blueish green glitter and I went with two skein of Hamanaka Nordica yarn.
So, today, I started to make a hat out of the new yarn. Originally, I wanted to make a knitted dress… But after a long hiatus of knitting, I thought a dress project might be too ambitious. A hat felt more doable.
The Corcuscant Hat looked nice, and the construction seemed pretty simple (and it used Star Wars name, too!). It started with provisional cast on, which I had done for a few projects. The new thing to leard was the short-rows wrap and turn, but thanks to You-Tube, it wasn’t as scary as it sounded. The cables were very simple, and I haven’t gotten to Kitchener stitch, which is a new thing for me too. So, hopefully, it would go well 🙂
Anyway, here is the Ravelry Page for the Corcuscant Hat.
