As soon as we woke, the kids immediately asked for breakfast. They were planning to spend the whole day at the Kids Club. So, after breakfast, they left and didn’t come back until around 6PM, right before dinner. They even went for their dinner with their Kids Club buddies.
So, we, the parents decided to go off doing our own thing. The first thing that Shinta and I did was to go on a morning run at the beach. We ran around the resort compound and along the beach from one end to another. It was drizzling the whole morning, so we were a bit soaked by the time we were done. But the beach was very pretty… Even though it was hard to run on the beach (heavy steps!), it was all worth it.
Shinta took a panoramic view of the beach… That’s me standing at the picture!
After the run, we went to the dining room for breakfast. The kids had already left for the Kids Club when Shinta and I arrived. The dads took care of the kids while we were running. They were planning to have another round of kayaking at 10am, when the water sport station opened.
So, while waiting for the water sport station to open, Ari and I walked around the beach, and found a spot with tons of fish swimming around. So, the four of us ended up going into the water and swam with the fish. As we walked further away from the beach, the larger the fish got and the more variety they were. Since we didn’t plan to swim with the fish, we didnt’ bring our goggles with us… But that’s okay, because the water was so clear, that we could see everything from above the water. I also brought our waterproof phone sleeve, so we could take pictures and videos of the swimming fish around us.
And the video:
As the sun got higher, the fish moved towards the deeper areas because of the low tide. We decided to head to the water sport station, which was located at the other end of the beach. We could see that the staff had started to pull out the kayaks and the tiny catamarans out from the shed onto the shore. Shinta and I decided to join the dads, and each of us took one kayak. And it was much more fun than I thought it would be.
The sky was still drizzling and was very grey.
A quick video of us:
While we were out in the sea, sitting on the kayak, sometimes we would spot thousands (maybe millions?) of tiny translucent fish jumping out of the water, forming a long and moving band of little splashes on the surface of the wave. The band of jumping fish would travel across the water, sometimes went underneath our kayak… It was amazing to see it. I tried many times to take a video of it, but every time I turned around and pointed my camera phone to the moving band, it would submerge and disappear…. And reappear again when I’m not ready with the camera phone. So, we ended up with no videos of the phenomenon…
Around 1:30PM, we were called back to the shore by the staff. It was lunch time, and the water station was closed for lunch. So, off we went to the dining room again.
This time, they served Indonesian Food! For me, the highlight was the urap. You see, the food at Club Med was nothing like those hotel food. They were always very delicious and taste like how they are supposed to taste. Nothing like those fusion crap. Dangerous for keeping my figure, but it definitely made me happy 🙂
After lunch, we all went back into the pool. The GOs were having some kind of water aerobics in the pool, but by the time we reached the pool, it was too late for us to join. So we just watched. After they were all done, there was a water polo game between the guests and the GOs. I was too tired to join, and ended up falling asleep on the best double recliner chair. I guess all those kayaking was more draining than I thought.
Aina and Naia went back from the Kids Club around 4-ish. They swam around the pool for a bit, because they didn’t get to swim during in the Kids Club due to the rain. It’s been alternating between rain and drizzle all day today, so they cancelled the swimming time at the Kids Club.
After a short swim, we all went up to the room to take a shower and got ready for dinner. Tonight’s dinner was steak… Soooo good! I think Ari and I had like 4-5 rounds of dinner. Crazy…
After dinner, apparently, there was another show (so, it looked like they have a show every night!)… Tonight’s show’s theme was Rock ‘n Roll… or something like that. It’s basically the GO’s getting dressed up and doing lipsync to songs from many different eras. We were kinda spent, so Shinta didn’t watch the show, keeping Neishia company in the room.
That night, when Ari and I were about to go to bed, someone knocked on our door… It was Aina, looking upset, asking if she could sleep in our room for tonight. I immediately thought she got into a fight with Naia. You see, during the break before dinner, I showed Aina the video of the time we swam with the fish which we took earlier this morning… And she decided that she wanted to go swimming with the fish tomorrow too, instead of going to the Kids Club. That didn’t go well with Naia, who preferred to go to Kids Club… They seemed unable to resolve the conflict, thus tonight’s drama… XD
Well, I hope they would make up tomorrow…
