So, this morning, Singapore experienced solar eclipse. It was actually a total solar eclipse, But from Singapore, we could only see the partial The timing was perfect, between 7:20AM to 9:30ish, with the peak at 8:23AM. … I was dropping Aina to school at 7:20, then I went straight to the running track across the school to do some interval run, while watching the eclipse.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been avoiding running after the sun was up, because Singapore’s sun has been piercing and unforgiving, even at 8 in the morning. But I figured, since today the sun will be blocked by the moon for a while, it would be cooler. A perfect time to go running! And experiencing the eclipse at the same time!
Of course, I couldn’t see anything, since I didn’t bring any filter that allowed me to stare at the sun. So, it just felt like the day got darker and darker very quickly… and the color of the day was a bit orangey compared to the normal mornings (mornings are usually blueish in color). It wasn’t that dark, though, even at the peak… The 1983 partial solar eclipse that I experienced in Bandung was much darker and gloomier.
I tried to take a picture, but of course, my iPhone couldn’t take the eclipse picture… so, I could only took pictures of me running, which is posted above.
