One of the fun things about Christmas is doing the Christmas-related crafts. Last week, we made some reindeers. Today, it’s candy canes and elves… made out of wooden beads and pipe-cleaners.
It was a nice day out, so all of us sat out in the balcony and did the craft together.

Anyway, what you need is:
- Christmas-colored beads. We chose the wooden beads because they’re pretty, and actually has the colors we wanted (the plastic beads we saw at the store didn’t have the green we wanted).
- Christmas-colored pipe-cleaners. We chose red, because that was the only color left in the store.
- A pair of scissors.
Making the candy canes were so easy. You just need to string the beads on the pipe-cleaner, put somekind of knot or bends at the end, to keep the beads from falling off the pipe-cleaner and shape it like a candy cane.
At the beginning, Aina and I were just making simple candy canes in various sizes, while Koda was hanging around and Ari took our pictures…

But later on, Ari decided to start making more intersting stuff, like balls and elves… Making elves was more fun, because we could draw faces and hair, so we ended up with many of them.

Aina had so much fun making the elves… And we all got curious if we could make more than just a regular Christmas elves. Aina had other color pipe-cleaners in her craft storage, so we ended up making an Aina Elf… the one with long hair and no hat.

So tonight, our Christmas tree got many more ornaments hanging on it. It’s getting more and more full each year 🙂

Thank you! The balcony is Aina’s secret garden, so it’s “highly-decorated” with her stuff, hehe.
