Aina was ecstatic last night, because right after her ballet class in the afternoon, the school distributed the end-of-year performance Coppelia costumes for her class. All the children in her class had been waiting for this since June, when Mr. Cheng told them that their costume will be a very red tutu…
And it was A Very Red Tutu, indeed!
The distribution of the performance costumes had always been something that everyone would look forward to. Everyone (including the parents) are usually curious about how they would look like on stage. And I guess, it makes the kids feel like real ballerinas, like those on posters and magazines… A full-blown tutu and everything.
She couldn’t wait to get home to try it on and dance in it. On our way home, she kept saying, “I think this is my favorite costume so far!”… or, “Did you see it, the tutu was soooo wide! It’s the biggest tutu I’ve ever had!”
I don’t know, I personally think it’s the same size as her Giselle’s Butterfly tutu… but I didn’t think it was worth to argue 🙂
And as soon as she could put it on, she immediately launched into her dance routine, over and over again, testing on how it looked and how it felt. She was beaming and super happy. Dripping sweat, but happy. And I got to take some pictures of her, beaming and happy.
