just like any other ballerina wannabes, aina looooves the Angelina Ballerina stories. not only she watch the TV series, she also collects the books. in the book, Angelina carries her ballet dress and shoes in a flowery bag with a letter A sewn on it.
one day, aina’s grandma gave her a pink flowery totebag, and aina thinks that it looks very similar to Angelina’s ballet bag. since then, she uses that bag to store all her ballet stuff, which includes her ballet dress, tights, a comb, a water bottle and some pins and hair ties.
she’s also been asking me to put an “A” on the bag, so that it looks like Angeline’s bag. it’s a good thing that she and Angeline have the same initial A 🙂
so i started with looking at the book and trying to see the letter A. then i made a pattern, so that i can make two As to put on each side of the bag.
since i don’t have a plain pink fabric, aina chose a pink pinstripe one instead.
after cutting the As, i trace the shape on to the fabric using carbon paper and tracer.
then i start the sewing the applique…
aina was happy with the A. she immediately put all her ballet stuff in and carried it around the house 🙂
