toddler ear-flapped hat

on the day before the departure, the second winter hat for aina is finally done! it’s the ear-flapped one that i started weeks ago. i sort of forgot about it, and made other things in between. then yesterday, during the packing, i realized that i haven’t finished the edging of the hat. oops.

this one is a rather simple hat. i didn’t really follow a specific pattern. i basically made two triangles for the earflap, then started to make the round part of the hat off the triangle, working my way up. the distance between the triangles are the same for both the back and the front. then, i just crochet the edging, and add some fat tassels. that’s about it. aina seems to like it, although the size is probably a bit to big for her (thanks to my “wing-it” design).

i was going to add a pompom on the crown on the hat, but both ari and i ended up liking the hat without anything on the top.
