first bloom of the lotus

i’m very proud to announce that the lotus plant that we got a little over a month ago has finally sprout a flower. it started about 11 days ago, when i noticed the tiny bud on the plant. the bud then got bigger and bigger everyday. and this morning, as we opened the backdoor, we were greeted by this:

what a happy day! i hope it will grow many more flowers.
