it’s been almost 10 months since the last time aina slept in our room. she’s been sleeping him her own room by herself since she was about 6 months old. but tonight, we moved her bed into our room, letting the four of us (including koda) to sleep in the same room.
starting yesterday, our house has been under mini renovation. mini means that we’re not really changing anything. we’re just cleaning up the house, repainting the wall the same color, fixing the doors that have been stuck, putty-up the holes on the wall, etc.
there are people going in and out of the house non-stop. the smell of paint, the sound of drill, ladders and paint buckets are everywhere. yesterday was not so bad, because they were working on the exterior of the house, painting all the walls and fixing doors and stuff.
today, though, was tough for us. they’re painting the interior. this means, we had to move all of our furniture and belongings off the walls and cover them so that the paint won’t splatter on them. this means, there is no TV (there is no TV jack upstairs), no landline and fax, and — the worst of all — no desktops.
this is how the current pericraft office look like… along with our former dining room:
and this is our living room:
and they will stay like that until the whole renovation thing is done.
poor koda, she wasn’t allowed to roam around the house. she had to stay upstairs. her food and drink have been moved up as well. the dog is soooo confused and stressed out with all that drill noise, paint smell and tons of people in the house.
we tried to get out of the house as much as possible, but with the rain that never stopped since this morning, it was almost impossible to take koda out…
today, they painted aina’s door that faces the balcony. and the smell in her room is unbearable. currently, the only room that doesn’t smell is our room, because we have decided not to paint any part of it.
so, that’s why aina’s bed is now in our room. if you think she’d be happy to sleep in the same room as her mom and dad, you’re wrong. she was crying and got angry when we moved her bed. apparently, she likes her room better than ours.
oh well, kids (koda and aina)… you guys just have to bear with us for a little more. it’s just one more day… and do the rain dance so that this 24-hour rain would stop and our paint would dry and it would finally stop smelling.
