today, instead of the usual Sunday, we went to the botanical garden with Koda and have breakfast there.
on the way there, we had a small argument with our cab driver. as usual, ari called for a cab. getting cab for Koda has the same routine: other than telling the call-center person where to pick up and where to go, we also tell them that we have “big dog on a leash”. yep, koda is a big dog. small dogs are the size of Jack Russel Terrier or smaller.
the cab came in, and when we open the door to enter, the cab driver squeal, “no, no big dog!”. he kept saying that the dog is too big, and if it was a small dog, he’d be okay. and we kept saying to him that we told the taxi operator that we have a big dog. so, supposedly, if he doesn’t want big dogs on his car, don’t take our order.
what we don’t understand is that on his screen (where he receives orders and all), it is written “LARGE DOG ON LEASH”. so i said, “but it says “LARGE” dog on your screen. you should know that we have a big dog”.
that shuts him up. despite bad driving, he became very nice to us. does that mean he didn’t read? or maybe he doesn’t know that “Large” means “Big”? i think Singapore taxi driver should learn English, at least those terms used on their communication with their operators.
anyways, despite the super hot weather, koda enjoyed her walk.
after two hours of strong sun and crazy humidity, all the sudden large dark grey clouds moved in. the wind picked up and it feels like we’re going to have long and heavy rain. we immediately called for a taxi, which — thank god — much nicer than the previous one. as soon as we got home, heavy rain pours for at least 4 hours.
i can never tell how the weather would behave lately…
