today, i had uni lunch with Rani. we were supposed to have this lunch weeks ago, as Sushi Tei had their Uni promotion this month, but she went to Minang for holiday.
i’m an uni lover. so, i was excited when Rani told me that she wants to try uni sashimi. she had once bought a tray of it when she visited Tsukiji Market when she went to Tokyo. but instead of eating it fresh, she kept the uni for three days in the fridge… oh no! that’s a big no no! you have to eat uni when it is fresh, otherwise it stinks and tastes like… snot (i think), eww…
so, i was very happy that she turns out to like the uni served today. it was cool and fresh. it melts in your mouth leaving a trace of milky and sweetish taste… yumm.
originally, we were just going for lunch, but the conversation gets a little too interesting that we kept doing place hopping. after the uni indulgent, we continued our talk at NYDC for their dessert. after that we stopped by Breko for their calamari + coffee + tea. and all the sudden, it’s 6:30PM… whoa. time flies…
that’s probably the longest lunch ever.

unit itu adalah: telornya bulu babi. hihihi. yang item2 tajem nyebelin itu lho.

I’ve never tried uni but would like to. Sadly, Milan is really not the place to have sushi. Nanti kapan-kapan kita makan uni ya, Thal?
oooow bulu babi.. sea urchin… aldo suka banget tuh ama bulu babi, menurut dia bentuknya amat lutu.. (padahal dia pernah ketusuk durinya).. enak ya ternyata telurnya kalo dimasak?

jangan dimasak! mentah dan segar! namanya juga sushi (atau sashimi). it has acquired taste, jadi kalo gue liat2, people either love it or hate it. kayak duren gitu deh.
kayanya uni tuh bukan telurnya, tapi emang bulu babinya, bagian tengahnya, dagingnya. pernah makan di Tsukiji, enak .
emang telurnya kok, ma. internal roe-nya sea urchin.
Oh ya, baru tau, kirain dagingnya. enak ya. berapa seporsi di Singapore? it’s hard to get, must be very expensive
hu hu hu, mahal! setengah tray, kayak gambar yang diatas harganya sekitar $28. kemaren lagi diskon, makanya kita makan 🙂
biasanya sih aku beli sushinya aja. dua potong, jadi affordable. kalo sashiminya sih, biasanya ga kuat. hehehe.
