IBA was the second competition that Aina joined during this Japan Summer Competition trip. Unlike her other competitions that she had tried before, this one doesn’t need to wear costume, and no need to wear stage make up either. So I guess, this is the type of the competition that really look at the technique and the facilities of the child…
Aina was doing her Talisman Variation again, which is her 5th time doing it on the stage. It was her first time doing it without costumes, though.
She didn’t win anything, except for being selected for a scholarship to join a short course in a ballet school in Paris. But I thought she did better than the Ballet Com a few days ago. It was also interesting to see her dancing on the stage without all the frills (costumes, tiara and heavy make up).
The standard of this competition was quite high. Even the younger ones were very strong and clean in their dancing. I guess, since this competition offers a lot of scholarships to good schools worldwide, all the competitors are those who are very serious about ballet.
