Finally, the day has come. Aina has to wear glasses now… The school had the HPB come and test the kids, and she ended up with 6/18 vision. I don’t really get what that means, but it is basically telling us that we have to take her to get her eye checked and get a pair of glasses for her, because she can’t see the board in her classroom anymore.
Aina was excited with the idea of wearing glasses. She already had an idea of the style of the glasses she would like to get, so it was kinda easy to shop for her. She said, she wants the thick black rim glasses, with wide rectangular frame. She doesn’t want the round ones, no thin ones either.
Last Monday, we went glasses shopping and had it made. It felt like a long 3 days to wait for Aina, until the glasses arrived. Today, we picked them up… and she was beaming!
I still feel weird seeing her wearing glasses. It makes her look very different…
She is short-sighted, which means her long distance view is a bit blurry. Her prescription is not too bad: -1.00 and -0.75 for the right and left, respectively. Oh, and she has a bit of astigmatism, 0.75 and 0.5. The optometrist said that she should try to wear it everytime she goes out of the house and especially in school, but she doesn’t need to wear it in the house and while doing sports and ballet.
