Finally! After waiting for the photos for almost 4 months, they finally arrived! Which means, I can start writing this entry… So, even though the date on the entry is 11 December 2016, it was actually written on April 3, 2017… yep, almost 4 months later.
Anyway, Aina loved this performance. It was her first end-of-year performance where she got to do more than one role.
First role was the Polonaise dancer:

They showed up on the third act, during the wedding ceremony of Aurora and the Prince. She did this one with her Ballet 3 class. This was actually the first performance costume for her role that didn’t come with a tutu. Her previous roles (1, 2, 3, 4) all had tutus.
And the second one, also not involving any tutus, was the monsters of Carabosse!

This one was Aina’s favorite. At the beginning, when she was just assigned this role, she was a bit disappointed. No tutu, and now she had to act like a monster, too. So un-ballet-like, she said.
But after going through a few rehearsals, this role became Aina’s favorite. The role was different and turned out to be fun. Moeka, the girl who played the Carabosse, was sooooo good in her role and made the Carabosse super cool, which in turn made the little monsters cool too! The little monsters were proud to be Moeka’s monsters!
And I think their costumes looked like little devils with kangoroo ears.
This year, Aina’s grandma couldn’t come to watch the show because she was all the way in Melbourne, Australia during the show… So it was just the two of us watching.
But of course, after both shows were finished, the kids went to fun-photo-frenzy… This always happens after the shows. All of them, in full stage make-up applied by the lovely ladies at harlowbeautyaz.com, went into piled-up poses and stuff.
