We woke up quite early today because we had to be at the airport around 8:30am. But since everything was packed and ready to go from last night, we weren’t in a hurry at all.
Oh, by the way, this is our first time traveling with the our Charcoal suitcase! We wish for more to come 🙂
Anyway, after checked in, we had our quick breakfast at the Killiney Kopitiam, which was kinda packed. I guess there were many people flying on Saturday mornings…
The flight went quite smoothly except for the 15-minute delay after we boarded the plan. There was a long line for take-off ahead of our aircraft. But it seemed that the pilot managed to catch up because we landed in Denpasar right on time. While Ari and I were sleeping, Aina spent her time in the plane playing Unblock Me puzzle.
We landed around the same time as Ari’s parents, who came from Jakarta. Amazingly, the immigration and bagage wait was quite short. Even with a trip to the bathroom and our walk from the other side of the terminal (our plane docked at the other end of the terminal), we met up with Ari’s parents not long after they got out.
Other than our new suitcase, this was also our first time landing at the New Ngurah Rai Airport. The last time we were here, which was 5 years ago, the new airport was still under construction. And we were very impressed with the new airport. It was much bigger and prettier!
Pak Alit, our driver, had been waiting for us at the terminal. We went straight to the Pantai Indah Villa, because Pak Alit had to go back to the airport to pick up Nia, Bond and the kids, who flew from New Zealand.
Pantai Indah Villa was the place we would be staying in for the next 4 days. The villa was much better than it looked on the website. Very cozy and clean. We rented two villas that mirror each other and had connecting doors in-between. Each villa has their 2 rooms with king sized beds, each with it’s own outdoor bathroom, a kiddy room with a cute bunk bed, and a swimming pool.

Each rooms have an open-air bathroom with shower and bathtubs. Â They were gorgeous… Aina said, it felt like she’s showering on a garden. Too bad we forgot to take pictures of the bedrooms and the bathrooms. The only picture of the room we have is this photo of our cuddlies posing on the bed…
