So, this was Aina’s 6th Reverance, Cheng Ballet mid-year performance, which was also Cheng Ballet Academy‘s 10th year anniversary. This year, she’d be doing the Ballet 1A class work and her last year’s Coppélia routine, Courage. And the biggest change for her was that she’ll be doing all 3 shows. Prior to this, she only did 1 show. So, it was quite a jump for her.
This also meant that she would have to attend many more rehearsals in the few days before the D-day. This took pretty much the whole day, from the time she finished school to around 8-9pm.
I finally got the photos from Cheng Ballet almost 4 months after the show (in September 2016, which is when this entry was actually written). So, yay, we can finally publish this story 🙂
Other than the classwork, she and her classmates also reprised the Coppélia routine, Courage, with a slight change on the formation. I think they did their dance better on this show compared to last year’s Coppélia… I guess they got to practice more this time.
Aina was at the front, second line from the right.
This year, however, was the first ballet show that Oma missed. She didn’t come to watch the show, because she and Ayah had a reunion trip that coincided with the performance date. So the family photos were only the three of us.
Out of the 3 shows, Ari and I got to watch the 2nd show, which was a Sunday Matinee show. Coincidently, Aina said, the second show was the show she danced best. So, yay!
As usual, I volunteered to help out at the backstage during the show I did not watch. I supervised the Baby Ballet kids and helped out with the costumes and all… and sometimes, I got to peek into the backstage wings.

And the activities behind the stage…

And after the last show, Aina got to hang out with her friends before going home. Two of her friends were moving back to Japan not long after the show, so they took pictures together.
And got photobombed by their seniors… Very flexible seniors…

The photos are gorgeous, Thalia – it’s hard not to see why you wouldn’t be proud of Aina, she is blossoming to become a fine ballerina!
Aw, thank you, Fairy! And soooo sorry for the late reply… I just found this comment in the spam folder… not sure why it went there 🙁
