This past Sunday, Aina decided to do some origami. After making a few stars and birds, we went and try the more complicated one: the Simple Fox from Keep Folding On. I know the name is Simple Fox, but really, it was not simple for Aina… So I had to help. It was fun, though…
We downloaded the PDF from the website, and started folding…

After the lunch break, we finished up the fox… We had some problems on step 18 and spent a lot of time there… We finally gave up and just fold the inner layer further in. And then, we had no idea why the tail look different between step 22 and 23, and couldn’t figure out how to make the tail look like step 23. So, our fox’s tail isn’t as round and fluffy looking as the one on the design.
But still, it turned out to be really cute. Aina called it Foxy.
And then, Aina added eyes and nose… and it got even more cute! I squealed every time I see Foxy after it got the eyes and the nose.
Foxy was so cute that Aina immediately wanted to give it a home. So she started designing and building a small cardboard house. The design went through several iterations, because at the beginning, she was planning to use the a flat cardboard and built from scratch.
But then we found a small cardboard box that was a perfect size for Foxie. So the original design got scrapped, and the house now has doors (or more like a gate) with a lock and two windows, a skylight… and a small garden. She hasn’t finished coloring the house, she said she’ll do it next weekend.
After the house was done, she was busy making the furnitures for Foxy. So far, it has a bed, a TV (flat screen… I guess kids these days only know flat screen TVs), and a fridge for Foxy to keep the marshmallow, cakes and candies.
I think Foxy is now a one happy fox with full tummy and a TV remote on its paws.
Foxy can even lock the doors of the house.

Hihi, thanks Chil! I think Foxy is currently playing a video game on its flat screen TV while munching on marshmallow 😀
Bakal gendut kayaknya si foxy :))))
Hahahaha… too much fatty and sugary food! Mungkin mesti minta Aina taro some salad di situ…
Your folder is so nice. How did you do from step 16 ?? I can not get it 🙁
Hi Cécile… yep, we struggled from step 18 onwards too Step 16 is squash fold, you can google the term Squash Fold, and there are instructions and videos in how to do squash fold. After that, you open up the fold from underneath.
As I said, we sorta improvised on step 22 & 23, because we couldn’t figure out how to make it look the same as the instruction either
