The Cuddly Land

Like most kids, Aina has an imaginary world (I used to have one too during my primary school years). Hers is called The Cuddly Land, and it’s located in her room, extended to her balcony. This is her story…

The residents are called Cuddlies and there are 3 kinds of residents living in Cuddly Land:

• CL – It’s kinda like Permanent Resident.
• Citizen – That’s self explanatory.
• Citizen Citizen – These are special citizens. They get extras and bonuses when they are shopping or dining in The Cuddly Land.

In Cuddly Land, there is no money. The currency is hugs and kisses. So, for example, a sandwich is cost a hug and 2 kisses.

According to the rules of Cuddly Land, nobody is allowed to fight. If they do fight, they will get scolded by Aina. And Cuddlies do not like to get scolded, so they will try not to fight.

In Cuddly Land, there is no public transportation. However, there are some Cuddlies who could either fly or big enough to carry a few other Cuddlies, and they work as the transport carrier. Fredo the friendly dinosaur is one of them. He can’t fly, but he’s big and strong, so he could easily carry 5-6 small cuddlies around, and currently works as school bus driver.

The Cuddly Land is divided into several areas:

Cuddly Land Palace

This is where Aina, Snowy Dua and Snowy lives. In real life, this is Aina’s bed.

Snowy Dua Restaurant

Snowy Dua, Aina’s husband, owns a big restaurant. All Cuddly Land residents eats there. Puni, who lives in Flatty Land, commutes and works here during weekdays. Many of the Citizens work here too.

This restaurant used to be co-owned by Snowy Dua and Dyna, the dinosaur. But Dyna became too bossy, and was finally fired. She is now working as a policewoman, which is a perfect job for her.

The Pink Hotel & HDB

This is where some of the residents live. In real life, this is actually a pink net from IKEA where Aina stores some of the Cuddlies. This is the tallest and skinniest building in the Cuddly Land.

Other than this building, there is the Underground (not in the picture), where the other residents live. It is a drawer underneath Aina’s bed.

Secret Garden

Secret Garden is the place where the Cuddlies hang out. They usually sit on the benches and drink their coffee. It has a swimming pool in the middle with a waterslide on it. The Secret Garden lends umbrellas for free, just in case it rains while the Cuddlies are in the garden.

The garden is actually the balcony that is attached to Aina’s room. Aina has been decorating the balcony with astroturf, flowers and small benches for her Cuddly Land.

Food Factory

Food Factory makes packets of food. Almost like bento. The Cuddlies who work at the Food Factory works very hard from morning to night. The van delivers to all Cuddly Land residents. Floppy works there.

The Food Factory has a mini apartment in there. There is only a few Cuddlies live there. That includes Floppy and the others who work there.

Super Playground

Super Playground is located at the Secret Garden. It’s a place for the little Cuddlies to play. Bunny Rolf works here. He collects tickets and makes balloons.

The Scanner

This is located at the door in to Aina’s room. The scanner works like this: as normal people, like Aina, Binggi or Bubu, walks through the door and past the scanner, they will shrink and turn into a stuffed toy and become one of the Cuddlies. On the picture above, it’s located on the top right corner… Aina was getting herself scanned in the picture.

The School

Cuddly Land only has one school, and it only opens once in a while. It’s located inside Aina’s Hello Kitty tent, which is only erected during holidays. So, in a way, the school only opens during weekends and public holidays. The teacher is Cinnamon, the gigantic bear (almost the size of Aina)… Even though Cinnamon is humongous, she is very gentle.
